Who do the PL/media need to be in Europe the season after next?
Those teams will probably be given easier games in the opening months to allow them to get points on the table and build confidence.
Do they need (NEED) us in Europe for a 4th successive year? Nah! That's too much of a threat to the status quo. Better a team everybody knows already. Those advertising slots don't sell themselves.

I suspect our opening day banana skin match has already been decided and the TV time booked.
